Minor Midgets Brush With Fame

The Ottawa Valley Titans Minor Midgets had a special visitor in their dressing room after their quarter final game at the Marlies Tournament. The team won the game against the York Simcoe Express in double overtime to advance to the semi finals. Undefeated in six games in 50 hours, the minor midgets earned their spot as one of the final 4 teams along with the Marlies, the Toronto Jr. Canadiens and the Syracuse Stars.  After the big win in front of a big crowd, Don Cherry came into the boys’ dressing room to congratulate them.  Don spoke with the players and said “As Luc knows, when you shoot on the net, good things happen”.  (Luc Deschamps scored the winning goal after 14 minutes of overtime.) The boys were honoured to meet Don and grateful he spoke with the team after their big win.
